Message from the Superintendent: Re-Opening Update 7-31-20

31 July 2020

Dear Parent(s)/Parent(s):

Thank you so much for the many responses we have already received to our Return-to-School Intention Survey. At this point, we have received approximately 180 family responses. The survey will close on Friday, 8/7/2020, at midnight. Your responses will aid us in finalizing our return-to-school plans. If you choose not to respond to the survey, then it will be assumed that your child(ren) will be returning to school for in-person classroom instruction. Once the Return-to-School Intention Survey closes, I will share with you a broad overview of the results in a future weekly communication.

Our listing of
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) has been updated. This updated FAQ listing also will be posted to our website for easy reference. We will continue to add to the FAQs, and we hope that you find this document helpful as you think about and prepare for returning to school.

As was mentioned in my previous message and in the video presentation, our Re-Opening Plan is awaiting review by the County Department of Education and approval by the State Department of Education. Any imposed directive(s) by these Departments of Education or any directive from the Governor’s Office could change our Plan at any time. These weekly communications will keep you updated of our status.

We are finalizing our schedule for the Summer Skill-Booster Program. We are trying our hardest to work around our custodial preparations of the buildings, which is work unlike any other summer. If you are interested in learning more about this modest offering, you will see a message early next week.

Stay healthy and enjoy the weekend.

Respectfully,

Danielle M. Da Giau, Ed.D.
