Message from the Superintendent: Happy Thanksgiving

24 November 2020

Dear Families,

Although these are challenging times, the season’s gifts remain bountiful. During this Thanksgiving holiday, we are reminded of our gifts – especially the simplest ones -- and encouraged to remember all for which we are grateful.

We are grateful for our students who smile and are ready to learn each day. We are grateful for our school families who create a strong partnership with us and who trust in us. We are grateful for our faculty, staff, and Board of Education, who have our students’ best interests at heart. We are grateful for this wonderful school community.

If your family is traveling for Thanksgiving and you are going to a location on the travel advisory list, please notify the school so we may move your child to remote instruction, for the purpose of quarantine, upon your return. If you have a college-aged child who has come home for the Thanksgiving holiday, please consider the advice offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As our students return to in-person instruction next week, please monitor your child for any signs or symptoms of illness. If your child or someone in your household is showing signs or symptoms of illness, please contact Ms. Lehmann (TBD) at 201-664-7176 ext. 1104 / [email protected] or Ms. McCarthy (CDW) at 201-664-1475 ext. 2103 / [email protected] before sending your child to school. We look forward to returning to in-person learning on Monday, 11/30.

Wishing your family a healthy and safe Thanksgiving holiday.

Respectfully,

Danielle M. Da Giau, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools/Acting Principal, CDW
Old Tappan Public School District
